MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122395 A) filed by New Horizon College Of Engineering; and Prof. Thanu Deepu George, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Dec, 5, 2025, for 'cooling enabled helmet with programmable navigation display and warning indicator.'

Inventor(s) include Prof. Thanu Deepu George; Dr. Sonia Maria D'Souza; Samarth S; Govardhan Naidu Sr; and C Sharath Chandra.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention provides an integrated smart helmet system that enhances rider safety, comfort, and vehicle compliance through advanced sensing and automated control. The helmet incorporates a transparent rollable display for unobstructed navigation, an alcohol sensor that restricts vehicle ignition, a crash detection unit that triggers automatic emergency alerts, and an infrared fatigue- monitoring system that initiates warnings or autonomous vehicle slowdown. A smart speed controller regulates vehicle speed based on GPS, map data, and camera-detected road signs. Additional features include solar charging, embedded LED indicators, modular detachable components, and a liquid-cooling system for rider comfort. A camera-based perception unit collects traffic and sign-board data, analyzes road conditions, and transmits metadata to a server, where aggregated data improves system accuracy and enhances services for the broader riding community. The system enforces mandatory helmet use and provides a comprehensive, intelligent safety ecosystem for two- wheeler riders."
