MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025567 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'convertible resting device.'
Inventor(s) include Lomas Tomar; Manisha Rastogi; Rishabh Chitranshi; and Vinay Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A convertible resting device, comprising a rectangular frame 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface and configured with a stretchable cloth to function as a mat when frame 1 is in a collapsed state, microphone 2 for receiving voice commands of a user regarding actuation of device, motorized slider 3 to translate a chamber 4 attached with each of slider 3 and position chamber 4 at middle portion of frame 1, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 for capturing images of in vicinity to frame 1 to detect dimensions of user, drawer arrangement 6 for accommodating user, L-shaped hydraulically operated rod 8 extend towards front portion of frame 1, electromagnet 9 for creating a chair-like seat for accommodation of user, hinge joint 11 to tilt and deploy flaps 10 and a motorized roller 12 to rotate for unwrapping sheet over flaps 10 for comfortable seating arrangement 6 for user."
