MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531020414 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 6, for 'convertible cycling aid device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A convertible cycling aid device, comprising a pair of elongated bodies 101 positioned on crank arms of a bicycle, each configured with a pair of extendable plates 102 via telescopically operated links 103 for ground support, motorized clamps 104 configured with bodies 101 for securing bodies 101 to crank arms, an imaging unit 105 detect user's presence, motorized hinges 106 configured between plates 102 and links 103 to align the plates 102, and guide the extension of a drawer arrangement for foot placement, motorized pin joints installed between plates 102 and extendable members 107 to secure the user's feet, telescopic bars 109 equipped with cylindrical hollow units 108 installed with each of bodies 101 for accommodating an amputated leg and inflatable bags 110 equipped with each of bodies 101 paired with air compressor 111 to secure the leg for efficient paddling."
