MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202347047133 A) filed by Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (PUBL), Stockholm, on July 13, 2023, for 'controlling transmisson of reference signals.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to methods of controlling sending of reference signals from a wireless communication device (10) to a radio base station (15), as well as a wireless communication device (10) and a radio base station (15) performing the methods.In an aspect, a method of a radio base station (15) of controlling sending of reference signals from a wireless communication device (10) is provided. The method comprises determining (S103), from an estimated characteristic of a communication channel established via each of a plurality of antennas (11-14) of the wireless communication device (10), a measure of similarity in the estimated characteristics for at least two of the communication channels; and if the similarity exceeds a similarity threshold value instructing (S104) the wireless communication device (10) to send further reference signals only on one of said at least two communication channels during a time period."
