MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441075370 A) filed by Nokia Technologies Oy, Espoo, Finland, on Oct. 4, 2024, for 'controlling rat access to a network for user equipment.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A user equipment, network control node and methods. The method performed on the user equipment comprises: receiving a message comprising an indication of multiple radio access technologies RATs that a public land mobile network PLMN provides for accessing the PLMN, wherein access to the PLMN according to at least one of said multiple RATs is via multiple network slices, said message further comprising at least one restriction indication indicating that at least one network slice of said multiple network slices is restricted for said apparatus, said message further comprising congestion information, said congestion information including information concerning a network slice of said multiple network slices that is not restricted for said apparatus; and using said congestion information when selecting a network slice of a RAT to use to request access to said PLMN."
