MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441075212 A) filed by Nokia Technologies Oy, Espoo, Finland, on Oct. 4, 2024, for 'controlling rat access to a network for some user equipment.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A user equipment, network control node and methods. The method performed on the user equipment comprising: receiving a message comprising an indication of multiple radio access technologies RATs that are provided for accessing a public land mobile network PLMN, at least one of the multiple RATs comprising multiple network slices, the message further comprising at least one restriction indication indicating that at least one of the network slices is restricted for the user equipment, the message further comprising congestion information, at least some of the congestion information being for the network slices that are not restricted for the user equipment; and using the congestion information when selecting a non-restricted RAT or network slice associated with a RAT to use to request access to the PLMN."
