The formulation comprises dexamethasone sodium phosphate in a thermoresponsive polymeric base (e.g., poloxamer-chitosan or alginate gel) that transitions from liquid to gel upon injection into the periodontal ligament. This provides controlled drug release for 24-48 hours, minimizes systemic exposure, and enhances postoperative comfort."
