MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517089541 A) filed by Minebea Power Semiconductor Device Inc., Ibaraki, Japan, on Sept. 19, for 'control method and control device for permanent magnet motor, and ceiling fan.'
Inventor(s) include Kume Kenichi; Saito Takashi; and Sugino Tomohiro.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is a control method for a permanent magnet motor including: a converter unit (3) that converts AC input voltage to DC voltage; an inverter unit (5) that converts DC voltage to AC voltage; a permanent magnet motor (6); and a control unit (MCU (8)) that controls the inverter unit in order to control a rotational speed of the permanent magnet motor (6). The control unit detects the AC input voltage, measures an amount of change of a peak value or an effective value of the AC input voltage and, if the amount of change is a negative value and also an absolute value of the amount of change exceeds a predetermined threshold, suppresses the rotational speed of the permanent magnet motor (6). When suppressing the rotational speed of the permanent magnet motor (6), control is performed on the basis of a table that expresses a predetermined relationship between the AC input voltage and the rotational speed."
The patent application was internationally filed on Oct. 11, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/036866.
