MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611007114 A) filed by Batx Energies Private Limited, Gurugram, Haryana, on Jan. 24, for 'continuous leaching apparatus for recovering metals from black mass of lithium-ion battery and method thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Vikrant Singh.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A continuous leaching apparatus (102) for recovering metals from lithium-ion battery black mass. The apparatus (102) includes a series of at least two continuous stirred tank reactors (104) arranged in fluid communication, enabling sequential black mass slurry transfer. A feed inlet (202) introduces the black mass slurry into a first reactor (104A), while a lixiviant supply unit (204) introduces fresh lixiviant into a final reactor (104N). Each of the at least two CSTR (104) is equipped with a plurality of sensors (106) connected to a control unit (108). The control unit (108) is configured to monitor and regulate parameters. A reagent dosing unit (112) meters at least one of a reductant or an oxidant into the at least one reactor (104) based on data received from the control unit (108). A solid-liquid separation unit (110) is positioned downstream of the final reactor (104N) separates pregnant leach solution from solid residue."
