MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517065117 A) filed by Arcelormittal, Luxembourg, on July 8, for 'continuous casting equipment.'
Inventor(s) include Pirlot, Nicolas; and Naveau, Paul.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a continuous casting equipment for manufacturing a composite metallic product, composed of a nozzle located between a tundish and a mold, comprising: - an upper part disposed downstream of the tundish, - a dome disposed at the inlet of the upper part comprising means for splitting the initial stream of liquid metal, - an internal wall located below the dome, creating at least two mixing chambers, - means for injecting powder through the dome to allow mixing with the liquid metal, - a lower part composed of at least a central channel and side channels allowing the liquid metal to flow into the mold through at least one outlet for each channel, wherein said side channels are longer than said central channel. The invention also relates to a method of continuously casting, using a continuous casting equipment related to the invention."
