MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006937 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'container opening device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Vinay Bhatia; Dr. Mohit Srivastava; Dr. Rachin Goyal; Piyush Kumar; Abhishek; and Mohit Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A container opening device, comprises a rectangular frame 1 having a pair of supporting rods 2 developed to be positioned over a ground surface, a sliding arrangement 3 for aligning the rods 2 with the lid portion, a suction unit 4 for affixing the rods 2 with the lid portion, a telescopic bar 5, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting the distance between the bar and the lid portion, a suction cup 6 configured with the telescopic bar 5 for getting affixed over the lid portion, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 for capturing multiple images in vicinity of the frame 1, a motorized ball and socket joint 8 for rotating the bar 5 in a manner to open the lid portion, a telescopic pole 9 configured with a blade 10 for cutting the lid portion."
