MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010120 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'container lifting assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A container lifting assistive device comprising of, a cylindrical hollow body 1 to accommodate over container, a pair of U-shaped handles 2 configured with body 1 for lifting, a laser sensor positioned within body 1 for detecting diameter of container mouth, a motorized iris lid 3 embedded within body 1 for gripping body 1, a camera 4 mounted on body 1 for capturing multiple images of surroundings, a pair of motorized pivot joints 5 configured between each of handles 2 and body 1, a touch enabled screen 6 installed on one of handles 2 for enabling user(s) to select mode of opening container, a motorized blade 7 installed with one of handles 2 via an L-shaped telescopically operated rod 8, a tactile sensor for detecting hardness of cap and a pressure sensor for detecting pressure applied by pin 9 over cap."
