MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514079407 A) filed by Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Aichi, Japan, on Aug. 21, 2025, for 'consent confirmation device, storage medium storing computer program for consent confirmation and method for confirming consent.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a consent confirmation device that confirms whether or not an occupant consent has been obtained for provision of data acquired in the vehicle to outside of the vehicle, in a manner without creating a burden on the occupant. The consent confirmation device has a confirming unit that confirms whether or not an occupant consents to provision of data acquired in a vehicle, when occupant identification information identifying the occupant of the vehicle does not match consenter identification information identifying a consenter who has consented to provision of the data."
