MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647042203 A) filed by Hettich-Heinze Gmbh & Co. Kg, Spenge, Germany, on April 2, for 'connecting fitting, piece of furniture and assembly method.'

Inventor(s) include Tremmel, Martin; Nordieker, Felix; and Konig, Noemi.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A connecting fitting for pieces of furniture (1) comprises a moulding (4, 4'), which can be secured in a first furniture part (2) and on which a clamping element (5) is movably retained, and also comprises a retaining part (6), which can be secured on a second furniture part (3) and can be braced by means of the clamping element (5) for the purpose of fixing the first furniture part (2) on the second furniture part (3), characterized in that a drive-in part (10) is formed integrally with the moulding (4, 4') and is connected to the moulding (4, 4') by means of at least one retaining crosspiece (19) with a predetermined breaking point and, for the purpose of fixing the moulding (4, 4') in a recess (8) of the first furniture part (2), the drive-in part (10) can be driven into a mount (22) of the moulding (4, 4'), with the predetermined breaking point being destroyed in the process. Also provided is a piece of furniture (1) comprising a first furniture part (2) and a second furniture part (3) along with such a connecting fitting, as well as an assembly method."
