MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517064870 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on July 8, 2025, for 'conductive material, electrode comprising same, and lithium secondary battery comprising electrode.'

Inventor(s) include Kim, Young Jae; Park, Joo Yong; Lim, Han Min; Park, Sang Hyun; Kim, Cho Won; and Kim, Tae Gon.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a conductive material having a conductivity performance index (PC) of 0.03-8.10, the conductivity performance index being defined by the following factors of the conductive material, i.e., the aspect ratio, the powder resistance, the packing density when measuring the powder resistance, the BET specific surface area, and the volume cumulative average particle diameter D50. According to the present invention, a conductive material capable of improving the performance of an electrode when a specific range is satisfied can be provided by using physical properties that may be related to the resistance characteristics and lifespan characteristics of the electrode to establish and define relationships between the physical properties. The physical properties may be, for example, that the conductive material is disposed in pores and disposed on the surface of an active material and forms conductive network connection paths between active material particles in the electrode and inside the active material."

The patent application was internationally filed on Sept. 27, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/014720.
