MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104623 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'computer-implemented system for predicting and simulating human disease progression.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Varun Kumar; Dr. Arun Malik; Navdeep Singh; and Dr. H Pal Thethi.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A computer-implemented system for predicting and simulating human disease progression comprising a data acquisition module 101 configured to obtain health records containing past and current disease states of multiple individuals, a transformer-based predictive model 102 trained to learn disease progression patterns from the health records using one or more generative pre trained transformer architectures, a disease prediction engine 103 configured to estimate future disease probabilities for multiple diseases based on each individual's disease history, a generative modeling module 104 configured to produce synthetic health trajectories representing possible future outcomes, an explainable artificial intelligence component configured to identify co-morbid disease clusters and provide interpretive reasoning for predictions, the system generates time-dependent disease progression insights, supports large-scale population analysis, and enables training of additional models without exposure to actual patient data, ensuring accuracy, interpretability, and privacy preservation."
