MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421021178 A) filed by Copeland Scroll Compressors Lp, St. Louis, on March 20, 2024, for 'compressor with variable performance single phase induction motor.'
Inventor(s) include Vaibhav Avadhut Kadam; Vishal Vasant Salunkhe; and Amar Balasaheb Mohol.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A single phase induction motor of a scroll compressor includes: a main winding that is center tapped forming: a first winding having a first end and a second end; a second winding having a third end and a fourth end; and a node between the second end of the first winding and the third end of the second winding; a first switch: including a first input to receive single phase power from a source; including a first output connected to the first end of the first winding; and including a second output; a second switch: including a second input connected to the second output of the first switch; including a third output connected to the node between the second end of the first winding and the third end of the second winding; and an auxiliary winding."
