MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517090940 A) filed by Sterile State, Llc, Farmington Hills, U.S.A., on Sept. 23, for 'compositions and methods for tissue sterilization.'
Inventor(s) include Frost, Megan Cecelia.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Systems, compositions, and methods of sterilization are presented in which a biological sample is sterilized using nitric oxide that is generated in a solution in which the sample is placed. In some embodiments, the nitric oxide is released from a nitric oxide precursor material that can be formed in situ from suitable reagents. Advantageously, sterilization can be effected at ambient temperature and pressure and uses nitric oxide as sterilant, thereby preserving biochemical and/or biomechanical properties of the sterilized tissue. Moreover, the sterilization process does not require dedicated equipment, and the sterilizing solutions can be discarded after use without adverse environmental impact."
The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 22, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/016925.
