MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441006650 A) filed by Yenepoya, Mangaluru, Karnataka, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'composition of herbal denture adhesive.'
Inventor(s) include Dr Savita Dandekeri; Dr Mohammed Basith NP; Dr Sanath Kumar Shetty; Dr Rajesh Shetty; Dr Rahul Yashavanth; Mrs. Sandhya V; Dr Vidya Bhat; Dr Kevin Fernandes; Dr Uma M; and Dr Mallikarjun Ragher.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosed embodiment relates to a method and composition for herbal denture adhesive. More particularly, the composition comprises of water-soluble polysaccharide, cross-linking polymer, and sugar alcohol; wherein the water-soluble polysaccharide is flaxseed mucilage; wherein the cross-linking polymer is carbopol 940; and the sugar alcohol is glycerine. The combination of flaxseed mucilage, carbopol 940, and glycerine provides retention and stability to the denture. The said herbal denture adhesive composition is biocompatible and an environment-friendly alternative to the synthetic adhesives."
