MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641042507 A) filed by Nitte, Mangaluru, Karnataka, on April 2, for 'composition and method for formulating a topical skin cleanser.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a herbal composition (200) for topical cleansing of facial skin, the composition (100) comprising neem extract (202) as botanical extract (102) to provide antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and skin-soothing properties for reducing surface microbial load and calming irritated skin, tamarind extract (204) as polysaccharide extract (104) to provide viscosity-modifying, film-forming, and skin-conditioning properties for improving texture and enhancing skin feel,soap nut extract (206) as natural cleansing agent (106) to provide surfactant and foaming properties for effective removal of dirt, excess oil, and impurities, glycerin (208) is incorporated as the humectant (108) to provide moisture-retention and hydration properties to prevent post-cleansing dryness, methylparaben (210) as the preservative (110) to provide antimicrobial protection and extend the shelf life of the composition, triethanolamine (212) as the stabilizing agent (112) to regulate pH and maintain formulation stability, lemon oil (214) as the essential oil (114) to impart fragrance and provide supplementary antimicrobial enhancement."
