MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531128302 A) filed by Sourav Kumar Nanda; Jyoti Prakash Giri; and Monalisa Priyadarshini, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Dec. 17, 2025, for 'composite for geopolymer paver block, and method of production thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Sourav Kumar Nanda; Jyoti Prakash Giri; and Monalisa Priyadarshini.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a composite and method for geopolymer paver block production. The method employs alkaline activator (100), binder (200), and construction concrete waste aggregate (300). The alkaline activator (100) is prepared by blending (S1) sodium silicate solution (Na2SiO3) and sodium hydroxide sea water solution (NaOH) at a (S/H) volume ratio of 1:1. The binder (200) consists of fly ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag at 22% and 8% of the paver block weight, respectively. The aggregate consists of construction concrete fine and coarse wastes at 28% and 42% of the paver block weight, respectively. The alkaline activator (100) is mixed with a mixture (500) of the binder (200) and the construction concrete waste aggregate (300) for 4-5 minutes, wherein the alkaline-to-binder ratio is of 0.43 (v/w). Further, superplasticizer (400) is added at 1% of the binder weight. The resultant mixture is deposited into a paver block mould under vibration for 1-2 minutes. One the composite is solidified, it is removed from the mould after 24 hours, followed by ambient curing for 28 days to obtain the final paver block (600)."
