MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105150 A) filed by Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, Haryana, on Oct. 31, 2025, for 'competency-based legal education delivery and assessment system.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Ruchi Lal; Dr. Superna Venaik; Dr. Yamini Atreya; and Ms. Vani Kataria.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a system for delivery and assessment of legal education under a competency-based framework. The system comprises a computing device adapted to receive inputs from legal practitioners, judges, and academicians, said inputs defining a competency matrix with categories of legal knowledge, analytical reasoning, and practical skills. The system further comprises a server configured to store said competency matrix in a memory, execute technology-enhanced learning processes including interactive simulations, virtual courtroom sessions, and case-based practice platforms referenced against said competency matrix, capture performance data of a student during engagement with said technology-enhanced learning processes, update an E-Portfolio stored in said memory with said performance data correlated with said competency matrix, analyze said E-Portfolio through an assessment framework to classify proficiency levels, and generate an adaptive pathway based on said proficiency levels to output a verifiable skill dossier representing measurable competency of said student."
