MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202643042905 A) filed by Rajgopal G, Bangalore, Karnataka, on April 3, for 'compact rotary sprinkler with part-circle operation.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A compact rotary sprinkler with part-circle operation consisting of main body with distinct top and bottom sections. L-shaped locking structure with additional locking pin is provided on lateral surface of the top section of the main body. Main body clamp consisting of a hollow interior and a lateral 'L'-slot, is configured to engage with L-shaped locking structure and the additional locking pin of the main body through a push-and-twist mechanism. Hollow cylindrical rotor head having four curved nozzles arranged around its periphery. Mesh-type screen filter is installed at an inlet. Round-shaped cap to connect the rotor head through press-fit mechanism. The main body contains the internal channel with a tapered structure that acts as a flow deflector, blocking 20%-30% of the central outlet hole's area on top section to restrict the spray pattern at an angulation of 90-180 part-circle arc, driven by a connected rotary nozzle. The inner diameter of the said central outlet hole is 4.5 mm to 5.5 mm. The thickness of the blocked central outlet hole area is 1mm to 5mm."
