MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641041647 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education, Krishnankoil, Tamil Nadu, on April 1, for 'compact handy batter preparing machine with traditional slow speed grinding.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. S. Shasi Anand; and Dr. P. Jayakumar.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a compact and easy-to-use batter preparing machine that combines traditional grinding methods with modern design. The machine comprises an enclosure cabin (1) housing a motor drive (2), a worm shaft (3), and a 10 worm wheel (4) arranged to provide speed reduction and torque multiplication. The worm wheel (4) is coupled to a central axle drive spline hub (5), which engages with a central axle drive spline shaft (6) to transmit rotational motion to a grinding assembly. A bottom mortar drum (7) is positioned above the enclosure cabin (1), within which a rotary dual pestle (9), supported by a pestle holding arbor (8), performs grinding while 15 the drum remains stationary. A pressure adjuster arm (14) supported on a spring- loaded bed (16) enables controlled application of force during grinding. Additional features include a transparent lid (10), a pestle locking knob (12), a batter drain spout (13), and a speed controller (15) for efficient, safe, and user-friendly operation."
