MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006189 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 30, 2024, for 'compact climbing assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Amresh Kumar; Satwinder Singh; and Dr. Shweta Lamba.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A compact climbing assistive device comprising a frame 1 having a pair of metallic rods 2 bent to form an overlapping triangular shaped structure, a microphone 3 for receiving voice commands of user, a pair of electromagnets 4 integrated at ends of the structure to get oriented in an inverted V shape to support frame 1 on ground surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 installed on the frame 1 to determine height of user present near to frame 1, multiple rungs 6 arranged in between the structure via a pair of sliding units 7 for allowing user to climb through rungs 6, a pair of robotic arms 8 arranged on apex of the frame 1 for allowing the user to take support of arms 8, and a pair of extendable clamping units 9 arranged at mid portion of the frame 1 for holding waist portion of user."
