MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122208 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'compact circular polarization implantable antenna for biotelemetry.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. M. Karathikeyan; Mr. Mohammed Arshad; and Mr. Nadella Himavanth.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a biomedical telemetry system including a compact circular polarization implantable antenna having a circular dielectric substrate (10) with a relative permittivity of 10.2 and biocompatibility suitable for implantable applications, a radiating patch element disposed on a first surface of the dielectric substrate, the radiating patch element including geometric perturbations configured to induce circular polarization characteristics, and a ground plane disposed on a second surface of the dielectric substrate. The system further includes an external receiver configured to communicate wirelessly with the implantable antenna and signal processing circuitry configured to decode biomedical data transmitted from the implantable antenna."
