According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present application provides a communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: receiving first indication information, wherein the first indication information is used for indicating the number R of data streams and the indexes of first-type data streams, and the first-type data streams are some of identical data streams comprised in a first sub-data stream set and a second sub-data stream set; on the basis of the first indication information, determining the first-type data streams; and processing the first-type data streams. According to the technical solution of the present application, a sending end can flexibly adjust the first-type data streams on the basis of a requirement, and can accurately indicate the indexes of the first-type data streams to a receiving end, so that it is supported that the sending end flexibly performs precoding processing and controls the first-type data streams, and the receiving end correctly merges the first-type data streams, thereby ensuring the data stream detection performance."
