MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202637026824 A) filed by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on March 7, for 'communication method and apparatus.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: receiving first information, wherein the first information indicates at least one first resource, and the first resource is used for transmitting a first scheduling request (SR); and sending the first SR to a network device by means of the first resource, wherein the first SR is used for requesting a second resource for transmitting an SL-PRS, and the SL-PRS is used for sidelink positioning. In the method, at least one first resource is pre-configured for a terminal device by means of first information, and when the terminal device needs to transmit an SL-PRS, the terminal device can send a first SR to the network device by means of the first resource, and the terminal device can request, by means of the first SR and from the network device, a resource for transmitting the SL-PRS, such that the transmission of the SL-PRS can be realized, the transmission efficiency of the SL-PRS is improved, and the positioning precision is ensured."
