MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527062910 A) filed by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on July 2, for 'communication method and apparatus.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present application provides a communication method and apparatus. The type of a DMRS is type 1, and the number of DMRS ports in a DMRS port set is greater than 4, that is, the number of DMRS ports supported on a single symbol is greater than 4; or the type of the DMRS is type 2, and the number of the DMRS ports in the DMRS port set is greater than 6, that is, the number of the DMRS ports supported on the single symbol is greater than 6, which means that a terminal device can determine, according to an index of a first DMRS port associated with a first PTRS port, a first offset index, and a preset correspondence in the case that the number of the DMRS ports supported on the single symbol increases, a frequency domain position occupied by the first PTRS port. In this way, a frequency domain position occupied by a PTRS port is determined in the case that the number of the DMRS ports supported on the single symbol increases."
