MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547068074 A) filed by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on July 16, for 'communication method, terminal device, and network device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present application provides a communication method, a terminal device, and a network device, which relate to the technical field of wireless communication. The present application can reduce power consumption. The method is applied to a terminal device in a connected state and comprises: monitoring, by a terminal device, a wake up signal (WUS) from a network device by means of a first link during an inactive time of the terminal device; and if the WUS is detected, monitoring, by the terminal device, a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) from the network device by means of a second link during an active time of the terminal device. The power consumption of the terminal device when working on the first link is less than the power consumption when working on the second link. The first link can be a wake up radio (WUR) link, and the second link can be a main link."
