MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517072586 A) filed by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on July 30, for 'communication method, apparatus, and system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present application provides a communication method, apparatus, and system. In the method, an SMF network element may send the address of a terminal device and the address of the SMF network element to a centralized network element, wherein the centralized network element is used for providing the address of the SMF network element for an NEF network element according to the address of the terminal device; and the NEF network element may query the address of the SMF network element from the centralized network element, and forward first information from an AF network element to the SMF network element, wherein the first information is used for indicating a session-related service requirement of the terminal device. The method can be applied to an HR roaming scenario, so that the first information can be directly sent to the SMF network element by the NEF network element without being sent to the SMF network element by the NEF network element by means of a PCF network element, and in a network comprising the HR roaming scenario, the first information can be transmitted to the SMF network element from the AF network element, thereby improving the service quality in the network comprising the HR roaming scenario."
