MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611001458 A) filed by Mayoor School, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Jan. 6, for 'communication assistive device for persons having communication disability.'
Inventor(s) include Ishtaa Bhargava; and Alka Awasthi.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A communication assistive device for persons having communication disability, comprising at least one eyewear 101 worn by one or more persons having communication disability, includes a frame 102 having a pair of lenses 103 positioned over eyes of the persons and a pair of temples 104 to stabilise the frame 102 on ears of the persons, at least one rotatable camera 105 to capture high-resolution images of the hand gestures, facial expressions, and body postures of persons involved in a conversation, an inspection unit 106 to detect distance of the hand/fingers from the camera 105 and head movements and stabilize gestures, an audio unit 107 to convert the translated sign language into audible speech for the persons, at least one microphone 108 to capture speech from persons, converting the speech into text and display over a display unit 109, directly in the persons field of view to facilitate conversation."
