MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641044095 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 7, for 'combination electrotherapy machine integrated hot and cold pack.'
Inventor(s) include Kaaviya Khalpaga AS; Vanitha. Jayaraj; and Dr. Deepak Nallaswamy Veeraiyan.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a combination electrotherapy machine integrated with a dual-mode thermoregulatory detachable pack of delivering hot and cold therapy within a single compact unit. The them1oregulator pack contains an intemal heating and cooling module. Thermal control is achieved through two dedicated switches located on the main device: a HOT switch that, activates the heating element and a COLD switch that powers the cooling module. Only one them1al mode can be used at a time to an integrated safety interlock. Once a setting is chosen, 1 the machine's independent temperature knob changes the intensity of the heat or cold. Real-time 1 visualization of the chosen them1al output at the treatment location is made possible by the I thermoregulatory pack's integrated temperature-level display on its upper surface. The pack uses I a single physical pad to deliver both heat and cold therapy. allowing for a smooth transition ' between thermal modes without the need for replacement."
