MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019854 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 5, for 'comb holding device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Praveen Priyaranjan Nayak.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A comb holding device, comprising a telescopic rod 101 having a cushioned end to enabling a user to acquire a grip, a rectangular base 102 by means of a ball and socket joint 103, a clamp 104 is positioned on the lead screw 105 mechanism for holding a comb, pop-out balls 106 to translate the comb while the comb is gripped in the clamp 104, an imaging unit 107 for recording images in a vicinity of the base 102, a telescopic bars 108 attached with the rod 101 by means of hinges, ends of the bars 108 are provided with rectangular plates 109 having suction cups 110 along the surfaces for stabilizing the rod 101 against a flat area, a proximity sensor on the base 102 to detect a comb near the base 102."
