The composition (100) may include the freeze-dried multi-functional microbial consortium (102) comprises 5 to 30 bacterial species including a plurality of butyrate-producing anaerobes (110), a plurality of bile acid-transforming bacteria (112), and a plurality of mucosal-associated anaerobes (114). The composition (100) may include the plurality of butyrate-producing anaerobes (110) comprises Faecalibacterium prausnitzii and Roseburia spp. The composition (100) may include the plurality of bile acid-transforming bacteria (112) comprises Clostridium spp., Bacteroides spp."
