MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411070648 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Sept. 18, 2024, for 'collaborative playlist media playback system for vehicles and a method of implementing thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Described herein is a collaborative playlist media playback system (100) for vehicles. The system (100) comprises a server (102) in communication with an infotainment unit (106) of vehicles. The infotainment unit (106) communicatively couples mobile devices (108) associated with users (110), with the server (102) upon authentication of the users (110). The server (102) allows users (110) to select infotainment media to be played on the infotainment unit (106) using the mobile devices (108) and create a first collaborative playlist comprising the selected infotainment media being queued in a predefined configuration, and details of the respective users (110) who selected the infotainment media. The server (102) further plays the infotainment media associated with the created collaborative playlist upon approval from any of the users (110), and further restrict modification of the created collaborative playlist once the created first collaborative playlist is selected and approved by the corresponding users (110)."
