According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses CoLabCraft, a mobile-first collaboration platform for skill-based team formation and project coordination in hackathons and similar technical events. The system integrates a unified event discovery feed, structured user profiling with skill tags and quantitative ProficiencyScore values, a rule-based matchmaking engine for forming balanced teams based on technical complementarity, and a thread-based communication module for organized project discussions. A relational database schema employing a junction table supports efficient many-to-many indexing between users and skills, with indexing mechanisms enabling fast multi-dimensional queries. The backend architecture is implemented using microservices and RESTful APIs to support scalability and high availability. The platform further incorporates an evaluation framework using metrics such as Time-to-Team-Formation and System Usability Scale to assess efficiency and usability. By reducing platform fragmentation and automating skill-based matching, the invention improves team compatibility, reduces coordinationoverhead, and enhances learning and innovation outcomes for participants."
