MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024807 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'coin storage device.'
Inventor(s) include Roopika Malhotra; Dr. Shivani; Sumain Singla; and Tejbir Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A coin storage device, comprising a body 1 developed to be utilized for storing multiple coins, the imaging unit 4 detects presence of user's hand, the iris unit 5 configured on the lid to open for allowing user to accommodates coins inside body 1, multiple sections 6 installed within body 1 each designated for storing different denominations of coins, the OCR module detects denomination of coin that is inserted by user, the pusher 7 configured inside body 1 to hold and transfer coins into specific section, the vibrating unit 8 attached with each of section for post positioning of coins in view of spreading coins properly inside section, the IR (Infrared) counter counts number of coins stored within section, the panel 9 displays detected number of coins stored in each of section, the biometric sensor 10 provides biometric impression of user."
