MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431037167 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Kharagpur, West Bengal, on May 10, 2024, for 'coherent digital automatic gain control system and method with sliding window mechanism.'

Inventor(s) include Sreeparna Kundu; and Dr. Amit Kumar Dutta.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a closed loop regulation based digital automatic gain control (AGC) unit for stabilizing input signal in a noisy environment and maintains output gain of the input signal at a constant level, comprising a noise rejection filter for filtering the input signal through thresholding operation, a gain correction unit to apply a variable gain to the input signal, an evaluation unit to select proper threshold for thresholding operation and a control signal generator which feedback to the gain correction unit to amplify and modify the gain based on selectively either proportional feedback control or mean square error feedback control and utilizing a sliding window mechanism over the input signal till achieving the constant gain level."
