MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006942 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'clutch pedal locking and unlocking device for theft prevention.'

Inventor(s) include Ramandeep Singh Deorda; Ravinder Singh; Dheeraj Kumar Gautam; and Gurjesh Singh Chib.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A clutch pedal locking and unlocking device for theft prevention, comprising a pair of L-shaped bodies 1 positioned across linkage of clutch pedal of four-wheeler vehicle, a microphone 2 accessed by a user for locking clutch pedal, an electromagnetic spring 3 configured between first portions of bodies 1 to expand for pushing first portion away from each other for positioning a curved-shaped unit 4 attached with second portions in contact with each other for locking linkage, a pair of motorized sliders 6 translates a rectangular block 5 towards second portion, a set of pneumatic links 7 extend and get engaged in a set of holes 8 for locking clutch pedal, a camera 9 does verification user and after successful verification the links 7 retract, sliders 6 translate block 5 back to original position and spring 3 compresses unlocking clutch pedal to allow user to access the vehicle."
