MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024022 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'cloth zip fixing device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cloth zip fixing device, comprising an X-shaped frame 1 constructed with a pair of elongated members, each attached with a handle gripped by a user, a microphone 2 positioned on the frame 1 for enabling user voice commands, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 mounted on the frame 1 for detecting exact location of the zip, a laser projection unit 4 mounted on the frame 1 for guiding the user in aligning a motorized clipper 5 installed with the frame 1 with topmost teeth of the zip, a motorized rack and pinion gar arrangement 6 configured with the clipper 5 for gripping the topmost teeth, a telescopically operated gripper 7 configured with the frame 1 for gripping and pushing the removed teeth and a robotic arm 8 configured with the frame 1 for fixing the teeth with the zip."
