MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641019799 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education, Virudhnagar, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 20, for 'cloth ironing table with collapsible and adjustable bed with integral iron box holding stand.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. S. Shasi Anand; and Dr. P. Jayakumar.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The titled invention discloses a cloth ironing table designed to provide a stable, movable, height-adjustable, and space-saving ironing solution for domestic and commercial use. The ironing table includes a rigid base frame ( 1) supported on wheels (2) to allow easy movement without lifting. A central pivot and lock mechanism (3) . enables the table to fold flat along the floor for compact storage. A vertical column (4) 10 houses an extendable column (5) that supports an ironing bed (6) at an adjustable height. The ironing bed (6) is connected through a hinge axle (7) to. allow smooth folding and unfolding. A bed suspension clamp (8) engages with a clamp holding receptacle (13) to enhance stability,during ironing. The table further integrates an iron box stand (9) with a power port (1 0) for safe and convenient operation .. Side flip 15 extender arms (11) with retractable locks (12) support sleeve ironing. The invention improves ironing efficiency, safety, and storage convenience compared to conventional ironing tables."
