MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004414 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 22, 2024, for 'cloth iron maintenance device.'

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cloth iron maintenance device, comprises a cuboidal hollow body 1 positioned on a fixed surface and carved with a triangular-shaped cavity 2 access by a user to position the cloth iron in the cavity 2, a touch enabled screen 3 installed on the body 1 to give input commands for carrying out maintenance of cloth iron, a camera 4 mounted on the body 1 for capturing multiple images of the cloth iron, a set of pneumatic pins 5 configured at periphery of slot 6 to extend for allowing the user to place the cloth iron on the pins 5, a set of miniature brushes 7 configured at the periphery of cavity 2 via a motorized slider 8 for translating the brushes 7 along the periphery in view of removing dust from cloth iron, and an electronic nozzle 9 for dispensing the cleaning solution on the base plate."
