MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012990 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'clogging prevention device for sinks.'
Inventor(s) include Himanshu.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A clogging prevention device for sinks, comprises of a ring-shaped body 1 developed to be positioned in an opening carved in a sink, an inductive proximity sensor detects any metallic object on the member 2, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting diameter of the opening, a set of L-shaped telescopically operated links 3 to extend/retract for adhering a suction cup 4 with inner walls of the opening to secure the body 1 with the opening, a weight sensor for detecting weight of the solid waste collected over the member 2, a lifting arrangement 5 for lifting and deploying the member 2, and multiple of curved-shaped extendable plates 6 via a set of telescopically operated rods 7, to extend in synchronization with actuation of the arrangement 5, to extend and position in contact with each other to form a continuous semi-circular structure for collecting the solid wastes."
