MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005879 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 29, 2024, for 'clogged water removing device for ground surface.'

Inventor(s) include Jatindar Kaur; Sarbpreet Kaur; and Sajjan Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A clogged water removing device for ground surface comprises of a cylindrical frame 1 constructed with a set of C-shaped extendable members 2 having first ends 3 connected with each other developed to be positioned within manhole on a ground surface, a laser acuity sensor integrated on one of members 2 for detecting diameter of manhole, a motorized hinge 5s connected between first ends 3 for positioning second ends 4 of members 2 in contact with each other, thus securing frame 1 within manhole, a set of motorized sliders 9 assembled between members 2 and rods 7 for providing a to-and-fro motion to rods 7 which in turn results in lifting and lowering of manhole over in a continuous manner to drawing clogged water within manhole, thus eliminating water clogging around manhole."
