MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641062344 A) filed by Adichunchanagiri University; and Adichunchanagiri Institute Of Medical Sciences, Mandya, Karnataka, on May 16, for 'clinical and 2d echocardiography profile in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. M S Manjesh; and Dr. Ramesha S S.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a novel integrated clinical and echocardiographic assessment system and method for comprehensive evaluation of Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF) in patients presenting with heart failure symptoms and left ventricular ejection fraction greater than 50%. This approach combines detailed clinical profiling with advanced 2D echocardiography to identify characteristic diastolic dysfunction patterns, left atrial abnormalities, and associated comorbidities, enabling earlier and more accurate diagnosis compared to conventional methods that often overlook subtle structural and functional changes in preserved ejection fraction cases. By systematically correlating clinical symptoms, laboratory parameters, and echocardiographic metrics such as diastolic dysfunction grading and left atrial volume index, the system facilitates improved risk stratification, personalized management, and better patient outcomes in this increasingly prevalent yet challenging subtype of heart failure."
