MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441007800 A) filed by Jain, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 5, 2024, for 'climbing assistive device for watercraft.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A climbing assistive device for watercraft, comprising a frame 1 having at-least two rods installed on rear portion of a watercraft by a mechanical clamp 2, a touch interactive display mapped on platform which is accessed by user to input command for boarding/de-boarding, a motorized hinge joint for deploying frame 1 towards surface of waterbody to allow user to board/de-board, an ultrasonic sensor mapped on frame 1 for detecting height of user that and based on which a motorized sliding unit 4 positions multiple rungs 5 equidistantly on frame 1 to allow user to board/de-board, a rain sensor detects rainfall and accordingly actuates a speaker 6 to notify user regarding risk of slipping from rungs 5, and an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 7 determines presence of obstacle in path of watercraft and accordingly speaker 6 alerts the skipper regarding the detected obstacle."
