MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631043268 A) filed by Narula Institute Of Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal, on April 4, for 'clap switch light.'
Inventor(s) include Kamalika Banerjee; Subhra Mukherjee; Arkendu Mitra; Hemanta Kumar; Ritik Kumar; Mriganko Paul; and Bidyut Das.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a sound-activated switching apparatus designed to convert acoustic energy into electrical control pulses for the operation of light appliances and other electronics. The system employs an electret condenser microphone to detect sound vibrations, which are then processed through a multi-stage transistorized circuit. A pre-amplification stage boosts the initial weak signal to trigger a second switching transistor, which completes a circuit to power a load. The apparatus features an integrated time-delayed response, utilizing a resistor-capacitor network to maintain the active state for a predetermined period, such as 25 seconds, before returning to a standby mode. This invention serves as a foundational component for smart home integration and hands-free accessibility."
