MUMBAI, India, June 16 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611055130 A) filed by Manipal University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on April 30, for 'civicsweep: an ai-assisted role-based system and method for digital waste reporting, automated vendor assignment, geospatial verification, and auditable resolution.'

Inventor(s) include Mr. Aryan Gupta; Mr. Rudra Pratap Singh; Mr. Shashwat Rana; and Dr. Neelam Chaplot.

The application for the patent was published on June 5, under issue no. 23/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an AI-assisted civic waste management system for processing and resolving waste-related complaints. The system comprises a user interface for receiving reports with geolocation and image data, a backend module for storage and processing, and an artificial intelligence engine for classifying waste type with a confidence score. An assignment module automatically routes reports to appropriate vendors based on classification, with fallback to a general vendor when confidence is low. A role-based workflow enables controlled actions by users, vendors, and administrators, including administrative override and status updates. Vendors submit geo-tagged proof of task completion, which is validated by a verification module prior to closure. An event logging module maintains a chronological audit trail of all actions. The system further includes offline synchronization for queuing and updating data during network unavailability, ensuring efficient routing, accountability, and verifiable complaint resolution."
