MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019206 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 4, for 'cinnamon extraction device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Hemanta Kumar Palo.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cinnamon extraction device, comprises of a cuboidal integrate with multiple motorized wheels 102 to move the platform 101 over the surface, a chamber 103 positioned on the platform 101 for storing harvested raw barks of cinnamon tree, a motorized clamp 105 arranged on the platform 101 by means of an extendable rod 118 for gripping the barks from the chamber 103, an imaging unit 108 installed on the platform 101 to determine thickness of the barks, a pair of motorized clippers 109 are installed on lateral sides of the slot 106, each by means of an extendable bar 110 for positioning the clippers 109 onto the bark's edges, a robotic link 111 configured with a wedge-shaped blade 112 to provide reciprocating movement to the blade 112 over the bark's outer layer for scraping off the outer layer, and multiple Peltier units 113 to extract cinnamon from the raw bark."
